FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Dear Friends and Supporters of the Academy for Global Citizenship,
Thank you for your ardent dedication to helping the Academy for Global Citizenship’s (AGC) work to thrive. On behalf of AGC we are delighted to provide you with a brief update on our educational initiatives in 2007, in addition to extending an invitation to you to become a part of our 2007-2008 Vision of Hope.
Our 2007 journey has been extraordinary! We have been inspired by the relentless enthusiasm of Chicago’s global citizens, civic leaders, community members and dedicated educators, exemplified by our 120 attendees at AGC’s 3rd annual event held at the Perfect Pear Gallery on May 23. Furthermore, Arne Duncan, CEO of Chicago Public Schools, has recommended AGC to the Board of Education, receiving final approval on October 24th for an intended August of 2008 open date.
Our 2007-2008 Vision of Hope is well underway! Internationally collaborative alliances are currently being developed to augment our globally focused curriculum and organizational partnerships are growing. Our team is working vigorously on attending national conferences on best-practices, meeting with consultants, developing community associations and obtaining adequate operational funding.
As you reflect back upon your journey, we encourage you to recall the impact that your education has had on your life. For most of us, we would not be on the path we are on today without books to read, teachers who cared and an environment that nurtured our potential.
Please sincerely consider being an advocate of our Vision of Hope by investing in our future generations through a tax-deductible contribution to the AGC’s work with Chicago children. Your generous support is vital to the development and establishment of the Academy for Global Citizenship in the underserved community of West Elsdon in 2008.
We are unequivocally grateful for your willingness to join us in passing on the seeds of education to our children and grandchildren, our future leaders.
Fervently,
Sarah Elizabeth Ippel, Founder and Executive Director |
